first-contact-constructionTo You Who Feel Nervous About Contacting a Construction Company for the First Timefirst-contact-construction

As you surely know, in Kyoto we have a long-standing word:

Ichigen-san

It refers to someone who visits a tea house or restaurant without prior introduction. I completely understand why such a system exists, and as someone born and raised in Kyoto, I hope this tradition continues.

But I often think about this.

“Ichigen-san” is a word used from the shop’s perspective. It means “not a regular customer, someone unfamiliar.”

Customers themselves do not call a shop “Ichigen-san.” Yet from the customer’s side, entering an unfamiliar place can feel intimidating.

Even a restaurant praised as delicious may not suit your taste. A clinic or beauty salon may not match your style. Online reviews you trusted may turn out to be fake.

And when it comes to building, repairing, or renovating a house, the stakes are far higher. This is not like eating one bowl of ramen and saying, “That was a mistake.” The cost is significant.

On television, we often see reports of dishonest contractors. It is natural to wonder. Do I really need this? Am I being overcharged?

I understand those doubts very well.

That is why this website exists.

We at Inoue Komuten do not want to be “Ichigen-san” to you. We write everything here in our own words so that you can see who we are.

The author, known as the Okami, takes care of every task that allows our craftsmen to work smoothly. Through daily work, she shares what she sees, feels, and thinks as a member of Inoue Komuten. These are genuine voices from the field.

This message is written especially for those who worry. “Will I be deceived if I contact a construction company for the first time?”

By the time you finish reading this website, Inoue Komuten will no longer feel like “Ichigen-san” to you.

So please, even if it is your first time, feel free to contact us. We will meet your “first step” with sincerity.

Menial tasks - they’re the things that keep everything running, even if no one notices. They’re about anticipating someone’s “I wonder…” and quietly smoothing it out before it becomes a bump. To call that “menial” feels like a waste. Honestly, it might be the most important work of all. (…or at least, that’s what I tell myself to keep going lol) I see it as the work of creating space. Tending to the invisible threads between wood and human life. As the Ninja Okami of chores, I carry that belief with me—and work like a draft horse, day in and day out.
