Why We Don\u2019t Have Many Project Photos (Let\u2019s Be Honest)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve been building homes in Joyo for over 80 years – quietly, humbly, and almost entirely through word of mouth. But in recent years, we\u2019ve been hearing more and more locals say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived in Joyo, Kyoto my whole life and never knew this kind of builder was right here!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That stings a little. So we finally decided to do something about it and built this website. But as you\u2019ve probably noticed… there aren\u2019t many photos here yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might be thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy are there no pictures?\u201d
\u201cIsn\u2019t it normal to take nice finished photos after a project?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re absolutely right. But here\u2019s the thing – we never did that. Why? Simple. We never had a website to put them on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(And now, here comes the embarrassing part)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we start working on your home, you\u2019ll figure this out pretty quickly anyway, so we might as well come clean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our craftsmen do<\/strong> have smartphones. But they don\u2019t use LINE. They don\u2019t take selfies. Honestly, they use their phones like glorified alarm clocks<\/strong> – or worse, like rotary phones<\/strong>. You know, the kind your grandma had, with the dial you spin and the satisfying click-click-click.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So when we say, \u201cHey, take some nice, sharp, well-composed photos of the finished work!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hell yeah, that\u2019s not happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And on the rare occasion they do snap a photo, it\u2019s usually blurry, crooked, and taken with zero regard for lighting or angles. It\u2019s not a \u201cportfolio shot\u201d – it\u2019s a \u201cthis\u2019ll do\u201d record for internal use. That\u2019s why we have almost no publishable photos from past projects. (Sad but true.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For decades, we simply didn\u2019t need to take photos. So we never built the habit, or the mindset of capturing our work for the world to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s the honest reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The few photos we do have? A handful taken by a professional photographer years ago, and some recent ones snapped by our Always Ninja Okami<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that\u2019s changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From now on, we\u2019ll be documenting our work – slowly but surely. Not for \u201clikes,\u201d not for show, but to share the truth of what we build. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No filters. No fluff. Just honest craftsmanship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
